Configuring Outlook for e-Mail when you are Hosted by the Elves.

Setting up New e-Mail Addresses

(To Transfer Existing e-Mail Addresses to Your Web New Host, Click Here)


Just open Outlook and follow the 12-step method below to set up your e-mail:


1.  Hit the Send/Rec button to retrieve old any cued mail (if you get an error message it is OK):






2.  Click on the Tools in the menu bar.
3.  Click on Accounts in the dialog box that drops down.






4.  Click on the Mail tab in the dialog box.

If You Are Changing an Existing Address, then go on to Step 5. below:

If You Are Setting Up A New Address, then Click Here to continue:

5.  Click on the Add button to the right.
6.  In pop up box that appears, click on Mail.






7a.  In the next "Your Name" Fill in the name your sender name that you would like to have appear to those whose receive your e-mail. This could be the e-mail address itself (i.e. whatever@yourdomain.com),
or it could be your name or company name. Then click the Next button.
  b.  In the next "Internet E-mail Address" window fill in the e-mail address you would like to create
(i.e. newaddress@yourdomain.com). Then click the Next button.






8.  Change the Incoming mail (POP3):  field to mail.yourdomain.com
                                                                                                        (yourdomain.com = your web site address).
9.  Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP): field to mail.yourdomain.com

10.  Enter the Account name: field with your full e-mail address (whatever@yourdomain.com).
11.  Enter the Password: (provided by your Web Host - that would be us at The Web Elves.)

Click on the Next button to close the dialog box.







12.  Select the connection choice the fits your system, be it:
Connect using my phone line
Connect using my local area networld (LAN)
I will establish my internet connection manually.
Then click the Next button.







13.  Click on the Finish button to close the remaining dialog box:







Now hit the Send/Rec button again to retrieve new mail.

You can send yourself a test e-mail to check your success.
